I have heard so much about Thailand, about the cheap shopping and good food but people always miss out the nitty gritty details like the hygiene and the crazy humidity in Thailand (except for the first 2 days in my case, it was 20 degree celsius wtf). My first time in Bangkok, I enjoyed myself tremendously but I received a culture shock when I reached the land of imitation like how the standard of living is so different from Singapore. I really like the people there though, they are really mild mannered.

There would always be people ripping you off knowing you are not a local but I guess it happens in every part of the world but the satisfaction I get from bargaining is beyond words. The shopping I’d say is really awesome but you need alot of determination to get you through the day because you need to brave the crowds and the heat, it’s a feat. The food, despite having alot of flies as residents buzzing about constantly, they are delish! Very cheap. The clothes I bought back home are all less than S$12. I even got maxi dresses for less than S$9. Something which really awed me is the ladyboys, they are not afraid to let you know that they’re ladyboys.
I would visit Bangkok again and maybe other parts of Thailand if there’s ever a chance to. The 6 days I’m there, I slept at 11pm latest and wake up at 7am to get ready to go shopping because there’s always insufficient time to throng the malls/markets. At the end of the day, I’m so tired with jelly legs but really happy. The tuk tuk drivers go fast and furious, one of whom even did a wheelie.

Checked in at Tango Vibrant Apartments. I won’t say our hotel has the best location (compared to Amari Watergate which is just opposite Platinum), walking distance from Platinum Mall to our hotel is about 15 minutes. But it was good enough for us.

At Platinum foodcourt for lunch before we begin raiding the mall. One of the many things I miss the most: Waffles at the basement of Platinum.

At our favourite place for dinner. I swear we ate like pigs during our 6D5N in Bangkok.

Massage place we never fail to visit every night.

Complimentary breakfast at hotel. Continue raiding Platinum Mall.

Lunch at Fuji Japanese Restaurant. Cheap and good jap food.

Chillax session at Red Sky after dinner. Spectacular views of the city at night from 55th floor. Amazingly breathtaking.

Couldn’t wait to find out what’s all the hype and madness over Krispy Kreme. Overwhelming urge to fly back to BKK just for their glazed vanilla creme cake everytime I see the pictures. Really.

Authentic thai cuisine for dinner. Is it even possible to get sick of them?

Strictly full day of sight-seeing with no shopping. We spent the entire Saturday at Wat Po.

This is where all of us had our palms read by this fortune teller. We all felt like a lot of what he said was quite accurate. Thinking back, it kinda creeps me out.

Dinner at T&K Seafood resaurant, Chinatown.

Hailed 2 tuk-tuk(s) from Chinatown to take us to Central World.

Chatuchak weekend Market where we brave the crowds and the heat. I don’t know if it’s just me or the sun was being especially unforgiving that day. I was perspiring like a pig and by noon time my legs were already giving way. Took a break at Mango Tango where we sat down for their mango sticky rice. Absolute yummers.

My heart has skipped five million different seconds since we last spoke, and

splashes into my teacup from time to time. I forgot I never liked tea – or

rather, I remembered I needed warmth. So curious, these gasping

moments between nirvana and the view of earth sprawling. It’s still

encased in translucent wrapping, still small and twisting around itself like

mermaids, but my heart serves it’s purpose.

And sometimes even this bruised sack of blood in it’s shuddered choking

birth dreams.

Sometimes it even laughs – you would never guess, but I love it all the

more. When it beats like kaleidoscopes. When it leads me back to these

places. These mornings I swear could almost be the dawn of my humanity.

I remember it has always been my dream to own a DSLR…

And so… after much much contemplation and consultation from friends, I finally got my first DSLR last Sunday from the IT SHOW.

It’s a Canon EOS 550D! *beams*

Was set on buying the Nikon D5000 initially, but somehow got persuaded to get this instead.

Teehee.

My 2 previous compact cameras are all from Canon, and my first DSLR is also a Canon.

I am SO loyal. Hahahaha!

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love this baby!!

With a rumble of words congested amidst sentimental pleasures that life offers, images would do my days best justice.

It’s not like I’ll never see you again. That’s what I finally realized. Yeah, it’ll be hard, but life moves fast—we’ll see each other again. I know that. I can feel that. Just like I can feel how much you care for me and how much I love you. I know in my heart that this isn’t over, and that we’ll make it though this. Lots of couples do. Granted, lots of couples don’t, but they don’t have what we have.
